Does Your Resume Reflect the You of Today?

If Not, It Might Be Time for a Refresh.

We spend so much time trying to grow and work our way up the career ladder. But for every milestone you reach, it’s important to pause and put it down on paper. This is the only way people will know about your accomplishments and experience before you can tell them in person.

If your resume reflects who you were ten, five, or even two years ago, it’s time to dust off the cobwebs and spruce up your resume before sending it off. Even if you aren’t looking for a new job, you never know who might check out your LinkedIn profile or approach you with an unexpected opportunity and ask to see your most recent resume. And the last thing you want to do is scramble and take ten minutes to write down ten years’ worth of work and achievements.

Then there’s the whole writing about yourself part. It’s easy to talk about yourself when someone asks. But for some reason, when you need to put it down on paper, the task feels so much more daunting and confusing. What exactly are you supposed to say? What’s considered too much or too little?

These are all questions we can help you with.

Jess was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She reviewed and edited my resume and during many interviews, I was told that my resume was professional and concise. She was a huge assistance in helping me land my new job. Thanks!

Most people find it much easier to write about others than about themselves (us included!) So when it’s time to revamp that resume and strike the right balance of confidence and modesty, it’s better to work with a professional writer. Someone who not only has a way with words, but also brings an outside perspective to prevent things like bias, excess detail and irrelevant information from creeping into the final product.

Depending on your needs, we can either help you polish your current resume or craft a new one from scratch. This will result in a resume that is:

  • Effective
  • Professional
  • Concise
  • Engaging to read
  • Organized
  • Keyword-rich (to pass through Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS))

In addition to resumes, we write a number of other career-related content, including:

  • Cover letters
  • LinkedIn profiles
  • Career web pages
  • Job postings

Jessica is the best. She wrote the copy for my website and a resume that I used on LinkedIn. She is professional, courteous, creative, prompt and a joy to work with.  She made a job that was painful for me to confront an absolute delight. I cannot speak highly enough of her.
